Iowa State Cyclones earn a surprise vote to win the Big 12—does new head coach Jimmy Rogers have what it takes to deliver a historic season? Nick Marovets unpacks the bold prediction from Big 12 media days, exploring why at least one coach believes in the Cyclones’ potential despite a total roster overhaul, new staff, and a challenging schedule.
Key discussion points include Iowa State’s defensive transformation, the importance of Jesse Bobbitt and Ross Watson in building a dominant unit, and Rogers’ no-rebuild mentality. Marovets examines last season’s loss to Colorado, the importance of setting high expectations, and the “confidence-first” culture Rogers brings to Ames. Will the Iowa State Cyclones shock the Big 12 and silence doubters, or is this faith misplaced?
