Iowa State Cyclones target Tulane transfer Arnold Barnes III to inject power and depth into their running back room. With Jimmy Rogers and Tyler Roll urgently seeking backfield reinforcements following Jackson’s late departure, all eyes are on Barnes's bruising 5'10", 216-pound frame and proven ability to run downhill. Will Iowa State’s offense shift its identity around a run-heavy committee featuring Barnes, Aiden Flora, Cam Pettaway, and River Peppers?
Host Nick Marovets breaks down the Cyclones’ strategic push for fresh talent, assessing how Barnes’s running style complements an offense built on physicality and offensive line strength. Key topics include the importance of roster continuity before fall camp, the potential for running back rotations to keep legs fresh, and whether this late addition can give the Cyclones a new edge in the Big 12. Is Barnes the missing piece to solidify Iowa State’s run game and set the tone for the season ahead?
